The white stone tile in this traditional bathroom design is beautifully offset by the warm wood tones of the cabinetry. Recessed cabinetry ensures maximum use of available space in this room, including a recessed medicine cabinet, partially recessed toilet topper cabinet, and recessed linen cabinet. The medicine cabinet is custom framed to match the vanity. The large shower offers luxurious bathing with rainfall and slide bar showerheads, a fold-down wooden shower seat, and built in storage niche including a mosaic tile detail. The floor includes a tile rug pattern and underfloor heating.

The owners of this small condo came to use looking to add more storage to their bathroom. To do so, we built out the area to the left of the shower to create a full height “dry niche” for towels and other items to be stored. We also included a large storage cabinet above the toilet, finished with the same distressed wood as the two-drawer vanity. We used a hex-patterned mosaic for the flooring and large format 24”x24” tiles in the shower and niche. The green paint chosen for the wall compliments the light gray finishes and provides a contrast to the other bright white elements. Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who also serve the Chicagoland area and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Evanston, Humboldt Park, Wilmette, and all of the way up to Lake Forest. Subway tile has made a huge resurgence - and made its way into the residential marketplace tenfold. It's classic, it's clean, and you can play with the installation method to get some creative results. The small footprint of this Master Bath is underplayed because of the vaulted ceiling and skylight, smart storage solutions, and trough sink...not to mention the uber cool rain-shower panel. Designer: Astro Design Centre, Ottawa Canada Photos: JVL Photography The theme for this design was clean lines, symmetry and harmony. They played up the natural beauty surrounding the house, by enhancing the natural light and introducing new textures that would give the space a modern look. Being centred in a wooden lot, we chose to carry natural materials like walnut, marble and slate into the room. However, to add drama and contrast, the elements are juxtaposed with industrial lighting, square high-polished fixtures and a factory-style barn door.
