This home was a total renovation overhaul! I started working with this wonderful family a couple of years ago on the exterior and it grew from there! Exterior, full main floor, full upper floor and bonus room all renovated by the time we were done. The addition of wood beams, hardwood flooring and brick bring depth and warmth to the house. We added a lot of different lighting throughout the house. Lighting for art, accent and task lighting - there is no shortage now. Herringbone and diagonal tile bring character along with varied finishes throughout the house. We played with different light fixtures, metals and textures and we believe the result is truly amazing! Renovation and expansion of a 1930s-era classic. Buying an old house can be daunting. But with careful planning and some creative thinking, phasing the improvements helped this family realize their dreams over time. The original International Style house was built in 1934 and had been largely untouched except for a small sunroom addition. Phase 1 construction involved opening up the interior and refurbishing all of the finishes. Phase 2 included a sunroom/master bedroom extension, renovation of an upstairs bath, a complete overhaul of the landscape and the addition of a swimming pool and terrace. And thirteen years after the owners purchased the home, Phase 3 saw the addition of a completely private master bedroom & closet, an entry vestibule and powder room, and a new covered porch.

This bathroom needed some TLC and luckily DIY network came in to give it just that. Featured on "Bath Crashers" this bathroom got an overhaul with unique features such as a working fish tank, reclaimed wood ceiling and our handmade Moroccan tile with pops of color. By reconfiguring the space we were able to create a powder room which is an asset to any home. Three dimensional chevron mosaic tiles made for a beautiful textured backdrop to the elegant freestanding contemporary vanity.

Papillos

The expanded powder room gets a classy upgrade with a marble tile accent band, capping off a farmhouse-styled bead-board wainscot. Crown moulding, an elegant medicine cabinet, traditional-styled wall sconces, and an antique-looking faucet give the space character.
