After spending more time at home, the recently retired homeowners recognized that their nearly 30-year-old 1990s style bathroom needed an update and upgrade. Working in the exact footprint of the previous bath and using a complementary balance of contemporary materials, fixtures and finishes the Bel Air Construction team created a refreshed bath of natural tones and textures.

The large, expansive shower is the shining star of this project! A standard shower head, a handheld shower installed at the bench, and a ceiling mounted rain showerhead installed for added luxury. A large format 24" x 24" porcelain tile was designed for the main flooring and was also carried to the back wall. This tile is separated by the contrasting tiled shower curb and the stone mosaic at the shower floor. Of course it doesn't stop there with the waterfall edge of the vanity countertop cascading into the shower with a matching quartz bench. The decision to tile the entire vanity wall was made with a clean and contemporary porcelain tile adding an additional "wow" factor. The overall lighting is enhanced in the new design by adding four linear contemporary wall sconces on each side of the vanity mirror. Under cabinet lighting is added under the floating vanity as an accent and also subtle late night illumination

This dressed up and sophisticated bathroom was outdated and did not work well as the main guest bath off the formal living and dining room. We just love how this transformation is sophisticated, unique and is such a complement to the formal living and dining area.

The master ensuite features a very neutral, soothing material palette, with subtle pops of blue. A window frames a view of a tree outside, linking the interior with the landscape. A long, recessed niche extends the full length of the room, providing additional storage for the vanity and shower.

Louisa, San Clemente Coastal Modern Architecture The brief for this modern coastal home was to create a place where the clients and their children and their families could gather to enjoy all the beauty of living in Southern California. Maximizing the lot was key to unlocking the potential of this property so the decision was made to excavate the entire property to allow natural light and ventilation to circulate through the lower level of the home. A courtyard with a green wall and olive tree act as the lung for the building as the coastal breeze brings fresh air in and circulates out the old through the courtyard. The concept for the home was to be living on a deck, so the large expanse of glass doors fold away to allow a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoors and feeling of being out on the deck is felt on the interior. A huge cantilevered beam in the roof allows for corner to completely disappear as the home looks to a beautiful ocean view and Dana Point harbor in the distance. All of the spaces throughout the home have a connection to the outdoors and this creates a light, bright and healthy environment. Passive design principles were employed to ensure the building is as energy efficient as possible. Solar panels keep the building off the grid and and deep overhangs help in reducing the solar heat gains of the building. Ultimately this home has become a place that the families can all enjoy together as the grand kids create those memories of spending time at the beach. Images and Video by Aandid Media.

We used a large wall to wall mirror to maximise the feeling of space in this compact shower room. The vertical wood paneling gives the illusion of greater height and appears to go on forever in it's reflection.

We are so happy to have had the opportunity to take care of Diana & Todd's master bathroom renovation. Everything was removed and we started from scratch. The homeowners were looking to have more space and didn't need the bathtub anymore, so it was removed and we created a custom shower with a dry-off area. We also removed and closed off one of the windows to allow the shower to be longer, improves aesthetics, and provide more privacy. The new shower includes a pony wall with a long wall niche on it and new frameless tempered glass with a door. Cala Lenci Polished 12X24" Porcelain from Arizona Tile was used for the shower wall, and White Marble Flat 12x12" Mesh for the floor and the wall niche. They chose Icon Silver Matte 12x24" Porcelain Tile for the master bathroom and water closet flooring. A new 72” premade vanity was installed, with backsplash tile around the vanity top. Also, 2 new storage mirrors were placed to provide the necessary storage. We replaced the vanity lights for 2 Kichler Brinley 3 Light 24" Wide Bathroom Light and installed 2 new faucets. The vanity was shorter to provide more space for the dry-off area, which included moving the electrical for the vanity lights and plumbing for the sinks and faucets.
