Downsizing doesn’t have to mean compromising. This master bath remodel proved to be quite the opposite. The homeowners’ wish list was actually exceeded. Wish we could say that for every project! Not only did the new design accomplish the generous his and her vanities and large shower they desired, but we were able to achieve a semi-private water closet by incorporating a tall armoire, providing extra storage as a bonus. Some aging in place features were added without detracting from the beauty. The finished room feels spacious and bright. An oasis for the girls to get ready in the morning with a six-drawer vanity, maximizing their space for products and Avanti Quartz countertops to withstand the years to come. Honed Hex Carrara floors throughout and shower walls with beveled 3x6 subway tiles. The shower is accented with a custom niche and mother of pearl/mirrored mosaic tiles, wrapped with stone. Chrome fixtures throughout, giving the space a transitional, clean, fresh look!

When remodeling your home there are so many decisions to make. Our suggestion...start with the focal point. Start in the room where you spend the most time...your kitchen. That's what this customer did and it worked great for her. In her kitchen she decided on Cambria Harlech quartz countertops for her kitchen, then selected her cabinetry design and color; and finshed it with a beautiful tile backsplash that complimented both the Cambria Harlech and her warm brown cabinets. After her kitchen was complete she moved onto the master bath and found Cambria Fairbourne quartz countertops to brighten this bath.

This beautiful home got a stunning makeover from our Oakland studio. We pulled colors from the client's beautiful heirloom quilt, which we used as an inspiration point to plan the design scheme. The bedroom got a calm and soothing appeal with a muted teal color. The adjoining bathroom was redesigned to accommodate a dual vanity, a free-standing tub, and a steam shower, all held together neatly by the river rock flooring. The living room used a different shade of teal with gold accents to create a lively, cheerful ambiance. The kitchen layout was maximized with a large island with a stunning cascading countertop. Mauve was all the rage in the late 1980s when the clients of Arlene Ladegaard, founder and principal designer at Design Connections, Inc., built this custom home in the suburb of Olathe, Kan. Although a master bedroom on the first floor seemed unusual at the time, it turned out to be just the ticket for the clients. With its beautiful acreage surrounding the home, our clients had decided to stay there as they aged. The master bathroom was desperate for an update. Mold grew in the shower and that required swift action to eliminate. The clients wanted to replace the tub with a larger shower with clean Euro glass doors. The vanity with a makeup area received freshly painted cabinets with updated interiors and a plug-in area for a blow dryer, and the client loved the new perfume cabinet to store her collection. Design Connection Inc. provided Auto Cad drawings and elevations for design details, tile, cabinets, painting, installations and project management.

Glenwood Carpentry took an old drab master bathroom with an oversized and unused Jacuzzi tub and maximized the space with a huge walk in shower with center point drain, hexagonal mosaic tiles and custom shower niche. shower is completely waterproofed also. This is a luxury shower that will last a lifetime.
