This powder room is directly accessible from the main cooking area of the kitchen in this turn of the century Poppleton Park home. Because guests can see right in from the kitchen island, the room needed to be warm and welcoming. The original space of this master suite was the epitome of an outdated design. The homeowner’s desired to have a luxurious, personal oasis to escape. Their requests included: use of modern, yet warm & natural use of materials in an interesting way, better lighting, larger shower, better function of space and easy maintenance.

I designed deep storage/closet space across from the desk and handy to the bathroom. Notice the bathroom door is installed on "barn door" hardware and pockets into a slot adjacent to the closet. This functional design approach saves floor space, and I think it adds beauty and interest to the interior design detailing.
