This client requested to design with aging in place details Note walk-in curbless shower,, shower benches to sit and place toiletries. Hand held showers in two locations, one at bench and standing shower options. Grab bars are placed vertically to grab onto in shower. Blue Marble shower accentuates the vanity counter top marble. Under-mount sinks allow for easy counter top cleanup. Glass block incorporated rather than clear glass. AS aging occurs clear glass is hard to detect. Also water spray is not as noticeable. Travertine walls and floors.

We took this dated Master Bathroom and leveraged its size to create a spa like space and experience. The expansive space features a large vanity with storage cabinets that feature SOLLiD Value Series – Tahoe Ash cabinets, Fairmont Designs Apron sinks, granite countertops and Tahoe Ash matching mirror frames for a modern rustic feel. The design is completed with Jeffrey Alexander by Hardware Resources Durham cabinet pulls that are a perfect touch to the design. We removed the glass block snail shower and the large tub deck and replaced them with a large walk-in shower and stand-alone bathtub to maximize the size and feel of the space. The floor tile is travertine and the shower is a mix of travertine and marble. The water closet is accented with Stikwood Reclaimed Weathered Wood to bring a little character to a usually neglected spot!

For this master bathroom remodel, we were tasked to blend in some of the existing finishes of the home to make it modern and desert-inspired. We found this one-of-a-kind marble mosaic that would blend all of the warmer tones with the cooler tones and provide a focal point to the space. We filled in the drop-in bath tub and made it a seamless walk-in shower with a linear drain. The brass plumbing fixtures play off of the warm tile selections and the black bath accessories anchor the space. We were able to match their existing travertine flooring and finish it off with a simple, stacked subway tile on the two adjacent shower walls. We smoothed all of the drywall throughout and made simple changes to the vanity like swapping out the cabinet hardware, faucets and light fixture, for a totally custom feel. The walnut cabinet hardware provides another layer of texture to the space.

The soaking tub was removed and the walk in shower was reconstructed to make a large walk in. With all this spacious room available, a bench was also added. Also tile was installed all along the wall and up to the ceiling. Architects in Fulham As architects in Fulham Shape Architecture continue to design a large number of basement extensions in the Borough. At Stevenage Road we obtained planning permission for a large scale basement extension combined with side and rear extensions, pod room and complete internal refurbishment. This project followed on from a number we had recently completed in the ‘alphabet’ streets in Fulham. Basement Extensions in London Here the garden lightwell forms a striking element of the basement extension. Rather than being located across the width of the building as the lightwell has been in many other Fulham basement conversions, it is rotated such that it projects further into the basement interior and allows a studio/office space to be located at the garden end of the basement. These spaces give onto the lightwell and benefit from the light and aspect that it provides. As a basement extension the way in which the interior of this project integrates with the garden spaces is very successful. Extensions in Fulham This project involved side and rear extensions as part of the overall development. The side and rear extensions combine to create a spacious and light kitchen and dining space. Our experience of designing extensions in Fulham lies in the way in which these perimeter spaces bring light into the interior and enhance the visual and physical connections between inside and outside. Fulham Pod Room This is an example of another Fulham Pod Room that we have designed and built as part of a basement extension and whole house conversion project. Once more the addition of the pod room provides further welcome and well located accommodation to a project. The homeowner wanted to repurpose an existing walk-in tub into the new design. She has Fibromyalgia, a chronic syndrome that causes widespread pain. The tubs circulation of water provides temporary comfort. The new tub deck flows into the window sill, helping to create the seamless transition. The Travertine Scabos ledger tiles are naturally split faced making the room more dynamic and lively. The impact of the tiles can be felt through the distinct color combinations.
