A Room with a Hue- A Madison, CT Master and Guest Bedroom Redesign

This client was so much fun to design for. Their project was all about color, texture and creating a master bedroom and guest bedroom that compliments their passion for traveling and eclectic style. We created a seating area in the master bedroom where the family can gather at night to read and spend time quality time. Their desire for deep color and bold pattern allowed us to create a casual space that is both warm and inviting at the end of a long day. Guests often visit and stay for a bit. They wanted to give their family and friends the same cozy feel in their guest bedroom. We were able to use a combination of patterns, textures and colors with our custom-made bedding and pillows. We also love to repurpose where we can and painted furniture is a great place to start. The depth of color used here is a true reflection of our clients' warm and friendly personality that says "welcome to our home." An elegant master bedroom that was designed for luxury and relaxation with a large fireplace and expansive views of the city and mountain landscapes. Above the bed we lowered the ceiling creating a soffit to integrate reading lights and suspended multi-pendants suspended over the custom floating walnut nightstands. Behind the bed is a deep shimmery blue textured wallpaper. Custom floor to ceiling draperies and sheers cover the large sliders that lead out to the large deck with lounge chairs.

One of our largest renovations in recent years, this project is absolutely amazing. Situated in Killara, the land was originally 2 separate blocks, converted into one large home. You'll find an amazing swimming pool with a cabana, spa and diving board, as well as a tennis court and a Beecraft design and construct kids play equipment across the yard. The stand alone multi-storied 'cabana' along the tennis court is actually a guest house (you'll see the first few photos) featuring bedrooms, bathrooms kitchenette, living room and a ladder for the kids to get upstairs - how cool! We love the look of the exposed hips and rafters with the softer white and blue finish for the roof. The incredible main home included 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, new kitchen with a butlers pantry, living room, family room, dining room, formal dining room, a beautiful terrace and outdoor area with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace, home office, gym, theatre, billards room, cellar and a library/gallery.
