A floating vanity made from distressed wood and travertine keep this narrow space open and light. Rustic mirrors, metal screen cabinet doors and "pully" sconces add a western industrial flair. Photography by Emily Minton Redfield

This large master is complete with a custom steam shower and separate water closet, utilizing the space and allowing for maximum privacy. The steam shower control also controls the shower function, keeping the focus on the beautiful tile, rather than the controls. Each of the rustic wood vanities is topped with custom quartz and backlit blue glass sinks. The water closet features a large, frosted glass door, to allow light to pass through and maintain privacy. The design of the cabin began with the client’s discovery of an old mirror which had once been part of a hall tree. A custom vanity was fashioned to match the details on the antique mirror and a textured iron vessel sink sits atop. Polished nickel faucets, cast iron tub, and old fashioned toilet are from Herbeau. A fun project, nBaxter Design selected all interior and exterior finishes for this 2017 Parade of Homes for Durham-Orange County, including the stone work, slate, 100+ year old wood flooring, hand scraped beams, and other features.

An unexpected mix of stone surfaces gives the large, tradition Master Bathroom an air of permanence and elegance. This showcase bathrooms created with an experimental blend of numerous stones- all in the marble and limestone families, by mixing the warmth and the cool tones naturally. The creamy Limestone countertops fill the design and brings warmth and cheer to it. A serpentine mosaic on the adjacent wall runs above the edge of the oval tub. Although the mix of white, gray and gold might seem unusual, the finish effect is one of the turn-of-the-century European elegance.

Light and Airy shiplap bathroom was the dream for this hard working couple. The goal was to totally re-create a space that was both beautiful, that made sense functionally and a place to remind the clients of their vacation time. A peaceful oasis. We knew we wanted to use tile that looks like shiplap. A cost effective way to create a timeless look. By cladding the entire tub shower wall it really looks more like real shiplap planked walls.
