Sculptural agaves, succulents and California native plants punctuate the front landscape complementing the “arroyo seco” rain garden studded with boulders and branches. The rain garden catches 50% of the stormwater runoff from the roof and infiltrates it into the soil. The remaining 50% of the runoff goes to a second rain garden in the back yard.

"Looking Forward" - Abstract Metal Garden Sculpture by Jon Allen This free-standing and contemporary three-dimensional metal art sculpture reaches upward, but it also looks back at the ground as it rises. The bare metal ribbon rises up off its base, its bottom end hanging down toward the earth, and then it reaches upward with a serpentine undulation. Midway in its ascension, a spiral curls back, suggesting that there's more to this piece's motion than simply striving skyward. Dimensions: - Approximately 62"H x 12"L x 7"D including the 14" artistically textured wooden base. - Ready to secure to a patio, deck or garden stone with the included pre-drilled mounting plate for easy installation.(Screws not included) Color: All Natural Silver Please note: custom pieces are available for your size and color specifications.

Landscape by Stonepocket located in Minnetonka, Minnesota Creating a elegant landscape to blend with a home with such character and charm was a challenge in controlled resistant. Did not want the landscape to overwhelm the home, nor did I want a typical landscape for this style that usually involves a box hedge. Utilizing light in the front to create a perennial garden give the home a sense of place. Keep the planting mostly to whites and greens in the back unifies the space. photos by Stonepocket, Inc

A young family desired the perfect garden to grow alongside their rural lives in Surrey’s countryside. We designed a meaningful space for our clients to journey through their garden and reconnect with the native woodland encompassing their home. We felt it was important to perforate the boundary, to open up the scenic views and incorporate the borrowed landscape.

After their brand new construction was completed, this family had a beautiful and comfortable home that truly fit their needs. However, this new construction lacked an outdoor living space, which left the backyard feeling stark and bare. With this blank slate, we were able to create a relaxing environment for this family to enjoy. Faced with the challenge of using every square-inch of this small space, Native Edge was able to design a landscape that left this family worry-free. We incorporated a low maintenance composite decking system, modern raised metal planters, and a bubbling urn water feature to tie this peaceful landscape together. The poor drainage of the lot gave us the opportunity to create a striking cat walk and drainage feature, which left ample room for their vegetable and herb garden hobby. There is even a nook for the family dog to enjoy!

With the inspiration of a charming old stone farm house Warren Claytor Architects, designed the new detached garage as well as the addition and renovations to this home. It included a new kitchen, new outdoor terrace, new sitting and dining space breakfast room, mudroom, master bathroom, endless details and many recycled materials including wood beams, flooring, hinges and antique brick. After a tear-down/remodel we were left with a west facing sloped front yard without much privacy from the street, a blank palette as it were. Re purposed concrete was used to create an entrance way and a seating area. Colorful drought tolerant trees and plants were used strategically to screen out unwanted views, and to frame the beauty of the new landscape. This yard is an example of low water, low maintenance without looking like grandmas cactus garden.
