We took a pass through room without purpose and turned it into a vibrant, functional, high design office that works well for the entire family. Wrap around shelving, inspired by mid century designs, gave the room loads of personality and storage for both husband and wife, and their 2 year old son. While children's books, crafting tools and educational supplies are stored on the easy-access lower shelves, work materials and reference books are stored on the top shelves. A room-wide desk provides an ample side by side work space for both professionals to share comfortably.

A nook off the Living Room provided a perfect quiet space for study or computer work. Custom Built Cabinets and Desk built in our own Mill shop provided an exact fit to the space for this quaint, but eloquent retreat. Behind the wall is the families main living area– giving the feeling of inclusion without being part of the busyness of activity. Sprayed high gloss paint (Farrow and Ball—Hague Blue) is accented by the brushed gold of the lighting and cabinet hardware. A safe place to enjoy their art collectables and a feature wall that demands attention the minute you enter their home. We love doing featured work that holds special meaning to our homeowners and this project was fun to see come alive.

Horizon Interior DesignHorizon Interior Design
The owner of an insurance office in Auburn Hills came to Horizon Interior Design looking to inject some new life into their office interiors to create an inviting space for guests and employees alike. They wanted to replace all the old carpeting, repaint the walls, incorporate new furniture and décor for the waiting conference rooms, and stay on brand with deep blues and yellow/gold accent colors. Ultimately, they wanted a space where clients would feel extremely comfortable as if they were in their own living room at home! To create a cozy yet modern feel to this commercial office while staying true to their brand, we selected contemporary carpeting in a dark navy and gray, painted the walls with a deep royal blue, and added pops of gold and yellow with beautiful wall art and décor. These changes completely transformed the look and feel of this commercial office, but we weren’t done yet! To create a super comfortable, welcoming, and warm waiting room and conference room, we added relaxing chairs in a range of fun patterns and table lamps for ambient lighting - all working seamlessly with our paint colors, décor, and wall art choices. The reading room was designed with a his and her desk which purposely was positioned in that part of the room so I could specify a large window which would allow them to view their beautiful gardens while on their computers. The desk has a pull-out shelf to hold their printer, which when not in use is hidden behind a cabinet door. The double sliding french doors allow them easy access to their large deck. Both ceilings in the addition were designed with cathedral ceiling with tongue and groove white paneled ceilings, and Casablanca fans to keep the spaces cool.

This room was done by Scot Meacham Wood for the "Antiques in Modern Design" project. This office uses a 19th century Chinese coromandel screen as a backdrop for a midcentury glass dining table refashioned as a desk. The red lacquered Chinese Chippendale style armchair adds a pop of color to the otherwise subtle colors in the screen. On the desk is a contemporary print bringing out the colors in the pattern rug. In front of the print is a 19th century portrait of a gentleman. The modern lamp used as a desk lamp with brass shade provides additional lighting on the workspace.

We created this stunning moody library lounge inspired by the client's love of British Cigar Rooms. We used pattern, texture and moody hues to bring out the feel of the library and used the gorgeous Tom Dixon lamp, Restoration Hardware contemporary writing desk, client's gorgeous folk indian painting, and custom cabinetry to give the library/study a very modern yet classical feel!

Our Denver studio designed the office area for the Designer Showhouse, and it’s all about female empowerment. Our design language expresses a powerful, well-traveled woman who is also the head of a family and creates subtle, calm strength and harmony. The decor used to achieve the idea is a medley of color, patterns, sleek furniture, and a built-in library that is busy, chaotic, and yet calm and organized. --- Project designed by Denver, Colorado interior designer Margarita Bravo. She serves Denver as well as surrounding areas such as Cherry Hills Village, Englewood, Greenwood Village, and Bow Mar. The perfect match & fit to this clients space for the Home Office. The closed door storage below had a combination of file drawer, slide-outs for a printer & paper shredder, lockable storage, adjustable shelving and an integrated power plug in the desk drawer. The dual monitors swivel on their mounts on the wall. The open shelving is adjustable as well. Fluted casing on the tall uppers, the subtle arch and the table posts integrated into the design below add the final personal touches. Although the stain was very dark, their choice of White Oak material allowed the natural beauty of the grain to show through. Very elegant piece!
