ZulufishA detached Edwardian villa set over three storeys, with the master suite on the top floor, four bedrooms (one en-suite) and family bathroom on the first floor and a sitting room, snug, cloakroom, utility, hall and kitchen-diner leading to the garden on the ground level.
With their children grown up and pursuing further education, the owners of this property wanted to turn their home into a sophisticated space the whole family could enjoy.
Although generously sized, it was a typical period property with a warren of dark rooms that didn’t suit modern life. The garden was awkward to access and some rooms rarely used. As avid foodies and cooks, the family wanted an open kitchen-dining area where the could entertain their friends, with plentiful storage and a connection to the garden.
Our design team reconfigured the ground floor and added a small rear and side extension to open the space for a huge kitchen and dining area, with a bank of Crittall windows leading to the garden (redesigned by Ruth Willmott).
Ultra-marine blue became the starting point for the kitchen and ground floor design – this fresh hue extends to the garden to unite indoors and outdoors.
Bespoke cabinetry designed by HUX London provides ample storage, and on one section beautiful fluted glass panels hide a TV. The cabinetry is complemented by a spectacular book-matched marble splash-back, and timber, parquet flooring, which extends throughout the ground floor.
The open kitchen area incorporates a glamorous dining table by Marcel Wanders, which the family use every day.
Now a snug, this was the darkest room with the least going for it architecturally. A cool and cosy space was created with elegant wall-panelling, a low corner sofa, stylish wall lamps and a wood-burning stove. It’s now ¬the family’s favourite room, as they gather here for movie nights.
The formal sitting room is an elegant space where the family plays music. A sumptuous teal sofa, a hand-knotted silk and wool rug and a vibrant abstract artwork bring a fresh feel.
This teenager’s bedroom with its taupe palette, luxurious finishes and study area has a grown-up vibe, and leads to a gorgeous marble-clad en-suite bathroom.
The couple now have their own dedicated study, with a streamlined double desk and bespoke cabinetry.
In the master suite, the sloping ceilings were maximised with bespoke wardrobes by HUX London, while a calming scheme was created with soft, neutral tones and rich textures.

Kitchen EleganceWhat was once a confused mixture of enclosed rooms, has been logically transformed into a series of well proportioned spaces, which seamlessly flow between formal, informal, living, private and outdoor activities.
Opening up and connecting these living spaces, and increasing access to natural light has permitted the use of a dark colour palette. The finishes combine natural Australian hardwoods with synthetic materials, such as Dekton porcelain and Italian vitrified floor tiles
Hill Farm Furniture LtdThis large kitchen in a converted schoolhouse needed an unusual approach. The owners wanted an eclectic look – using a diverse range of styles, shapes, sizes, colours and finishes.
The final result speaks for itself – an amazing, quirky and edgy design. From the black sink unit with its ornate mouldings to the oak and beech butcher’s block, from the blue and cream solid wood cupboards with a mix of granite and wooden worktops to the more subtle free-standing furniture in the utility.

John Barton ArchitectThe serving bar is away from the cooking area so people using it won't get in the way of other people (who may be cooking). It combines wine storage and a coffee/expresso maker. Where the kitchen cabinets are white, these are dark as an accent to the kitchen...

Mon Concept HabitationCet appartement de 100m² acheté dans son jus avait besoin d’être rénové dans son intégralité pour repenser les volumes et lui apporter du cachet tout en le mettant au goût de notre client évidemment.
Tout en conservant les volumes existants, nous avons optimisé l’espace pour chaque fonction. Dans la pièce maîtresse, notre menuisier a réalisé un grand module aux panneaux coulissants avec des tasseaux en chêne fumé pour ajouter du relief. Multifonction, il intègre en plus une cheminée électrique et permet de dissimuler l’écran plasma ! En rappel, et pour apporter de la verticalité à cette grande pièce, les claustras délimitent chaque espace tout en laissant passer la lumière naturelle.
L’entrée et le séjour mènent au coin cuisine, séparé discrètement par un claustra. Le coloris gris canon de fusil des façades @bocklip laquées mat apporte de la profondeur à cet espace et offre un rendu chic et moderne. La crédence en miroir reflète la lumière provenant du grand balcon et le plan de travail en quartz contraste avec les autres éléments.
A l’étage, différents espaces de rangement ont été ajoutés : un premier aménagé sous les combles avec portes miroir pour apporter de la lumière à la pièce et dans la chambre principale, un dressing personnalisé.
Buzz Interior DesignThe carcass of this kitchen was still fine but change in style and colour was desired. The replacement doors were bespokely made by a local Carpenter. Replacement 20mm worktops were installed for a modern look mixed with a marble floor and brass fixtures and fittings. Purewell Electrical (Christchurch) were great in supplying new appliances. The dining table with a chevron effect top with metal legs was made to order and surrounded with blue velvet chairs and Danetti chevron backed bar stools. Villa nova fabric is amazing with its blue and yellow tones. Has an appearance of trees.
