A farmhouse coastal styled home located in the charming neighborhood of Pflugerville. We merged our client's love of the beach with rustic elements which represent their Texas lifestyle. The result is a laid-back interior adorned with distressed woods, light sea blues, and beach-themed decor. We kept the furnishings tailored and contemporary with some heavier case goods- showcasing a touch of traditional. Our design even includes a separate hangout space for the teenagers and a cozy media for everyone to enjoy! The overall design is chic yet welcoming, perfect for this energetic young family. Project designed by Sara Barney’s Austin interior design studio BANDD DESIGN. They serve the entire Austin area and its surrounding towns, with an emphasis on Round Rock, Lake Travis, West Lake Hills, and Tarrytown. Our friends at Pfeiffer Designs asked us to help bring this room to life by creating these amazing built in TV surround with sliding door cabinets. It included sliding doors to the main room to separate for the perfect experience of a home cinema. Amazing wall paper between the shaker doors really finishes it off nicely.

This 1850s farmhouse in the country outside NY underwent a dramatic makeover! Dark wood molding was painted white, shiplap added to the walls, wheat-colored grasscloth installed, and carpets torn out to make way for natural stone and heart pine flooring. We based the palette on quintessential American colors: red, white, and navy. Rooms that had been dark were filled with light and became the backdrop for cozy fabrics, wool rugs, and a collection of art and curios. This private home theater includes a cutting-edge 4K scaling JVC Reference Series projector built into the wall behind the seating area and a custom-built wall paneling system. Within the walls behind the acoustical fabric (providing not only an elegant look but incredible acoustics) are hand-crafted Triad Speakers to provide a 7.1 surround sound system to allow the owners to really experience their favorite movies as they were intended. At the front of the room is a Stewart Filmscreen, acoustically perforated screen which hides the front three speakers and allows the audio to cleanly be heard on the other side. All of the lighting within the room was custom-programmed for nice lighting scenes for when enjoying movies or setting a nice level of ambiance.

We designed this family room in a space which does not get much light, and is long and slightly narrow. It has a sloped ceiling so we painted it white and put in LED lights. The blue and white theme is evident in the dark accents walls, fabrics and velvet sofa. A black edged sisal rug grounds the seating area, and the tortoise roman shades add to the ethnic feel of the room. The TV is hidden in a carved armoire made from old teak ships. Charcoal gray behind the book cases and a gray carved mirror added more sophistication to the space.
