Buderim Kitcehn Remodel
Once an average beachside rental property, owner Ellie and Jason recently undertook a makeover to give this tired old house a new lease of life.
Perfectly positioned with incredible views out towards Mount Coolum and the ocean, the kitchen was their number one priority to make the most impact and take advantage of the outlook.
The couple enlisted RAW Sunshine Coast to undertake the design, manufacture and installation of their new kitchen. With a budget to stick to, we worked with the couple to come up with a layout that utilised half of the existing kitchen carcass, along with a few existing features such as the sink to save on costs.
After several onsite meetings, we came up with a design that was both beautiful and functional for this family’s needs. The design cleverly incorporates a mixture of materials, which not only add a sense of warmth to the space, but also light and uniqueness to this stunning kitchen.
Two natural materials were utilised for the kitchen countertop. Stone was used on one side of the kitchen, including around the wet areas and a timber benchtop on the opposite side, using solid feature grade Blackbutt. The timber benchtop is the hero of the spacing sitting at a massive 3 metres by 1.3 metres and doubles as food preparation area and breakfast bar. Shaker style doors in white satin two PAC were used for the cabinetry to lighten up the space and create interest, along with black handles to remain in keeping with existing upcycled fixtures including the kitchen sink.
