Chandelirium Printed Canvas

A quirky play with the juxtaposition of fire and water, the flamboyance of human decadence and beauty of nature by renowned Brighton artist Ant Fox. The artist's depiction of majestic Siamese Fighting Fish, which would never be seen together without a battle to the death, symbolises the balance between two realms: the domestic opulence of the chandelier and the aquatic world. The strength and presence of the main features enhance each other; a territorial fighting fish is a prominent feature in an aquarium, as is a dominant chandelier in a home. Look carefully and you may notice a dark undertone represented by the shadow of the shark. The artwork is printed onto 100% premium cotton canvas which is then stretched over a durable wood frame. The printing process allows the 2D image of a carved frame to wrap around the edges of the wooden frame giving it a 3D aspect when hung (kit included).
