This dining room wet bar is flanked by stainless steal wine columns. Crisp white lift up cabinets proved ample storage for glass ware either side of the flyover top treatment with LED lighting to add drama to decorative items. The graphic dimensional back splash tile adds texture and drama to the wall mounted faucet and under mount sink. Charcoal honed granite counters adds drama to the space while the rough hewn European oak cabinetry provides texture and warmth to the design scheme.

Walk-up Bar in Espresso stained Rift Cut Oak and Maple. This little gem measures less than 6' long but packs all the necessities to service you and your guests for any occasion - resting just between the Kitchen and matching Entertainment Center for maximum convenience. The main focal point is the engraved lower doors with their concentric designs framing the glass front Cooler. Each side has interior liquor drawers built in for ease of selection when hunting for that seldom used liqueur. Above the open work surface hangs the stemware with LED lighting. The upper glass storage has 1/2" polished glass illuminated with cool operating LED lights all behind wood framed frosted glass inserts to match the white counter top

I designed a custom bar with a wine fridge, base cabinets, waterfall counterop and floating shelves above. The floating shelves were to display the beautiful collection of bottles the home owners had. To make a feature wall, as an an alternative to the intertia, expense and dust associated with tile, I used wallpaper. Fear not, its vynil and can take some water damage, one quick qipe and done. We stayed on budget by using Ikea cabinets with custom cabinet fronts from semihandmade. In the foyer beyond, we added floor to ceiling storage and a surface that they use as a foyer console table.

If you prefer a more grandiose option, or all the amenities of a real bar, you can’t go past a built-in contemporary home bar.

What home bar functionalities do you want to include?

Decide how you will use the bar and whether you will need sinks, storage and refrigeration. Including a sink in your contemporary home bar design is a practical addition if you choose a location far from your kitchen. If you’re a wine connoisseur, you may want to include additional wine storage, whereas a mini bar fridge within the kitchen may need no extra storage at all. Storage is another important element, so look for a liquor cabinet and wine racks. Next, if you are creating a freestanding station, you will need a bar table, which are taller and shallower than regular dining tables. Check that your stools and table height work together before you finalise any home bar designs.

How can you personalise your bar design?

Bar tools and accessories are an easy and interchangeable way to personalise your bar design. You may want to create a wine bar, tavern-style bar or retro bar, so look for wine glasses and tumblers, for instance, that will help carry this style. Coasters, bar mats or signage will help you to further achieve your desired look.
