It was such a pleasure working with Mr & Mrs Baker to design, create and install the bespoke Wellsdown kitchen for their beautiful town house in Saffron Walden. Having already undergone a vast renovation on the bedrooms and living areas, the homeowners embarked on an open-plan kitchen and living space renovation, and commissioned Burlanes for the works.

This grand 2-story home with first-floor owner’s suite includes a 3-car garage with spacious mudroom entry complete with built-in lockers. A stamped concrete walkway leads to the inviting front porch. Double doors open to the foyer with beautiful hardwood flooring that flows throughout the main living areas on the 1st floor. Sophisticated details throughout the home include lofty 10’ ceilings on the first floor and farmhouse door and window trim and baseboard. To the front of the home is the formal dining room featuring craftsman style wainscoting with chair rail and elegant tray ceiling. Decorative wooden beams adorn the ceiling in the kitchen, sitting area, and the breakfast area. The well-appointed kitchen features stainless steel appliances, attractive cabinetry with decorative crown molding, Hanstone countertops with tile backsplash, and an island with Cambria countertop. The breakfast area provides access to the spacious covered patio. A see-thru, stone surround fireplace connects the breakfast area and the airy living room. The owner’s suite, tucked to the back of the home, features a tray ceiling, stylish shiplap accent wall, and an expansive closet with custom shelving. The owner’s bathroom with cathedral ceiling includes a freestanding tub and custom tile shower. Additional rooms include a study with cathedral ceiling and rustic barn wood accent wall and a convenient bonus room for additional flexible living space. The 2nd floor boasts 3 additional bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and a loft that overlooks the living room.

This adorable Cape Cod house needed upgrading of its existing shared hall bath, and the addition of a new master bath. Removing a wall in the bath revealed gorgeous brick, to be left exposed. The existing master bedroom had a small reading nook that was perfect for the addition of a new bath - just barely large enough for a large shower, toilet, and double-sink vanities. This stylish update for a family bathroom in a Vermont country house involved a complete reconfiguration of the layout to allow for a built-in linen closet, a 42" wide soaking tub/shower and a double vanity. The reclaimed pine vanity and iron hardware play off the patterned tile floor and ship lap walls for a contemporary eclectic mix.

With the master bath tucked into the eaves, the bath tub achieves maximum coziness. The white tile walls and bathtub accentuate the richness of the original wooden rafters and keep the space from feeling dark or crowded. We paired a gorgeous, boho patterned floor tile with a warm oak double sink vanity and bold matte black fixtures to make this basement bathroom really pop. Our signature black grid shower glass really helped tie the whole space together.

This tiny bathroom got a facelift and more room by removing a closet on the other side of the wall. What used to be just a sink and toilet became a 3/4 bath with a full walk in shower!

Complete bathroom refresh! No changes to walls or window but a complete change in aesthetic and function. Now the space is bright cheery and reflects the client's personality. The double niche offers dual storage. The single sink vanity also offers dual storage left and right of the sink with an outlet int the sink area and a hairdryer holster to keep the hairdryer "live" and ready. The mirror is a Robern recessed medicine cabinet and slides up with storage inside.

Our clients wanted to renovate their dated bathroom. On their wish list was a larger shower, linen closet, better lighting, using a modern farmhouse style that felt luxurious. We moved the small shower out of the corner, and made it the focal point in the room. We used penny rounds on the shower floor, bronze plumbing, and hand made elongated subway tiles. A deep gray grout shows off each tile. The old shower became the new linen closet.
