The concept for this basement's custom wine cellar space began with inspiration from a barn board wine cellar the customers came across in Montreal. Using this as a jumping off point for the rest of the basements design and aesthetic, we built on the rustic charm feel by pursuing a moody colour palette and a variety of natural texture throughout.

A Modern Farmhouse set in a prairie setting exudes charm and simplicity. Wrap around porches and copious windows make outdoor/indoor living seamless while the interior finishings are extremely high on detail. In floor heating under porcelain tile in the entire lower level, Fond du Lac stone mimicking an original foundation wall and rough hewn wood finishes contrast with the sleek finishes of carrera marble in the master and top of the line appliances and soapstone counters of the kitchen. This home is a study in contrasts, while still providing a completely harmonious aura.

This fantastically designed wine cellar, courtesy of the master wine cellar builders at Vintage Cellars, is a unique representation of fun and bespoke features that can be incorporated into a traditional redwood, yet modern and bright wine cellar like this. The wine room draws you in from across the house, with its warm redwood tones and interesting wrought iron and glass door. Tuscan themed wine room with hand cut stone, natural black walnut wine racks, wrought iron doors, climate control, and distressed plaster finish

Upon entering the basement, a large refrigeration center was installed to house wines and other beverages for entertaining. The textured stone framing this storage wall accentuates the rustic design of the space through the natural materials and tones while the details of each cabinet showcase the straight vertical and horizontal lines of this contemporary design.

This basement features A climate controlled glass enclosed wine storage system. The racking is made of teak. The basement ceiling is a tongue and groove wood ceiling stained to match the doors and trimwork throughout the house. We added brick veneer to multiple walls in the space to create the feeling of an old world cellar. The space is equipped with a wet bar. The cabinets are a rich dark stained cherry with raised panel doors and drawers with Cambria counter top. We added under cabinet lighting which really shows off the brick detail. The winding staircase is finished to match the wet bar cabinetry.
