This kitchen belongs to a lively young family of five (soon to be six) in New Rochelle New York. When meeting the family to discuss the kitchen renovation, the request was simple, yet required careful planning. They wanted a beautiful high end kitchen that would be not only child friendly but one that would give their children the feeling that this is a space for them to use freely. And so the kitchen was designed.
All countertops and backsplash, including the sink apron and the kitchen hood, are made out of a Dekton porcelain, a material that is both heat, scratch and stain resistant. Thanks to ever evolving technologies, it not only looks like stone, but feels like it as well. A secret compartment with a pouch magnet on the panel wall contains a three tier step-stool for reaching the upper cabinets while those are equipped with pulldown shelves to utilize all spaces with easy access.
The breakfast room table has a custom glass top created to prevent wear and tear of the table while the chairs are made of leather and can easily be wiped off.

The open plan dining and kitchen area has a bespoke wine wall that chills the wine. Dimmable LED lighting gives a cosy ambience in the evening. A large collection of artefacts are displayed in the built in shelves. This wall has been a terrific show-stopper in this residence.

Phenomenal great room that provides incredible function with a beautiful and serene design, furnishings and styling. Hickory beams, HIckory planked fireplace feature wall, clean lines with a light color palette keep this home light and breezy. The extensive windows and stacking glass doors allow natural light to flood into this space.
LiLu Interiors
LiLu’s most recent work with these long-time clients was to freshen up significant spaces in their Minneapolis home. Staying true to our original concept of creating a traditional, welcoming, and comfortable retreat, these homeowners have expanded on their love for living and entertaining in a sophisticated, yet casual style.

The guest room was updated to be more inviting for returning adult children and their spouses. Previous furnishings were replaced with nightstands and a large, custom bed that more closely complement the sophisticated feel of the rest of the home.

Our clients decided to take their childhood home down to the studs and rebuild into a contemporary three-story home filled with natural light. We were struck by the architecture of the home and eagerly agreed to provide interior design services for their kitchen, three bathrooms, and general finishes throughout. The home is bright and modern with a very controlled color palette, clean lines, warm wood tones, and variegated tiles.

The fabulous Kitchen we shared with you earlier is open to the Breakfast Area & Hearth Room. We kept most of the homeowner’s existing furniture including the table and chairs, small bookcase, leather chair & ottoman and the rugs.
In order to unify the existing pieces with our new color scheme, we installed valances in a colorful paisley print on the 3 large windows along the back wall. They pop off our walls in Sherwin Williams’ White Heron (SW7627). The chandelier in the Breakfast Area was slightly off center and unfortunately could not be moved. We install this oversized, dimensional chandelier that fills the space nicely. We added cushions in a fun denim stripe to the chairs.
In the Hearth Room, we paired a sofa with chaise in a sharp tweed fabric with the existing leather chair. We finished off the seating area with unique tables and a colorful lamp.
The most impactful change in this area was painting the bookshelves and adding a patterned tile around the fireplace that coordinates with our Kitchen backsplash. Kelly Sisler with Creative Finishes by Kelly did a “Restoration Hardware” treatment to the built-ins making them feel more like furniture. We added texture by installing grass cloth to the back of the shelves. We filled in some colorful accessories with the homeowner’s existing pieces to finish them off.
This is a warm and inviting space that along with the Kitchen is definitely “the heart of the home!”

These clients were looking for a contemporary dining space to seat 8. We commissioned a custom made 72" round dining table with an X-base. The chairs are covered in Sunbrella fabric so there is no need to worry about spills. Custom artwork, drapes, lighting, accessories, and wainscoting finished off the space.
