Here we have a little bit of fun with the head chairs and use an unexpected fabric. Because there's only a little pattern at the heads of the table, it allows us to pair other patterns together in the adjoining rooms.
White Sands Coastal Development
We remodeled this 5,400-square foot, 3-story home on ’s Second Street to give it a more current feel, with cleaner lines and textures. The result is more and less Old World Europe, which is exactly what we were going for. We worked with much of the client’s existing furniture, which has a southern flavor, compliments of its former South Carolina home. This was an additional challenge, because we had to integrate a variety of influences in an intentional and cohesive way.
We painted nearly every surface white in the 5-bed, 6-bath home, and added light-colored window treatments, which brightened and opened the space. Additionally, we replaced all the light fixtures for a more integrated aesthetic. Well-selected accessories help pull the space together, infusing a consistent sense of peace and comfort.

We had so much fun designing in this Spanish meets beach style with wonderful clients who travel the world with their 3 sons. The clients had excellent taste and ideas they brought to the table, and were always open to Jamie's suggestions that seemed wildly out of the box at the time. The end result was a stunning mix of traditional, Meditteranean, and updated coastal that reflected the many facets of the clients. The bar area downstairs is a sports lover's dream, while the bright and beachy formal living room upstairs is perfect for book club meetings. One of the son's personal photography is tastefully framed and lines the hallway, and custom art also ensures this home is uniquely and divinely designed just for this lovely family.

Refined Renovations & Refined Home
Dining room with lots of windows and transoms. Natural light is abundant in this serene setting. A modern light fixture centers the vaulted ceiling and dining table for eight. Custom drapes frame the newly painted window casing.
Nautilus Homes
Nestled in the white sands of Lido Beach, overlooking a 100-acre preserve of Florida habitat, this Colonial West Indies home celebrates the natural beauty that Sarasota is known for. Inspired by the sugar plantation estates on the island of Barbados, “Orchid Beach” radiates a barefoot elegance. The kitchen is an effortless extension of this style. A natural light filled kitchen extends into the expansive family room, dining room, and foyer all with high coffered ceilings for a grand entertainment space.
The dining room, encased in a subtle blue textured wallpaper is formal, yet welcoming. Between the kitchen and dining room there is a full size, walk in wine cellar, with a dedicated climate controlled system.
The Orchid Beach kitchen was designed as a personal and entertainment oasis for the owners to share the Florida lifestyle with their family and friends. The home gives the feeling of traveling back in time to a spectacular island estate and promises to become a timeless piece of architecture on Lido Key.
Spaces Renewed
The open concept we used at the main level combined the kitchen, dining room, and 2 separate seating areas, all in one great space with sweeping ocean views. Even though each space is connected, the areas are well defined and are full of purpose. We deliberate on space planning and floor plan creation to ensure that ‘open concept’ is still refined and dignified.
Nana Wall Door systems were used in the kitchen, family, dining areas and master bedroom in order to bring in the view and create the ideal indoor/outdoor living experiences. At the coast, we needed to use a product that could withstand the weathering, as well as offer superior clear openings, access to the numerous patios, and the cleanest site lines possible. This door system was the perfect compliment to this amazing home.
