The formal dining room of this Colorado Mountain home offers traditional charm with an "old world" flare. The tray ceiling is painted a burnt red hue, is antiqued with a copper glaze and enhanced with crown molding and a chandelier. The walls received a heavily, hand troweled texture and are antiqued with Sandy Brown paint and brown glaze. Red oak flooring, 5" baseboards, and dimmable, recessed lighting completes the room.

Having worked ten years in hospitality, I understand the challenges of restaurant operation and how smart interior design can make a huge difference in overcoming them.
This once country cottage café needed a facelift to bring it into the modern day but we honoured its already beautiful features by stripping back the lack lustre walls to expose the original brick work and constructing dark paneling to contrast.
The rustic bar was made out of 100 year old floorboards and the shelves and lighting fixtures were created using hand-soldered scaffold pipe for an industrial edge. The old front of house bar was repurposed to make bespoke banquet seating with storage, turning the high traffic hallway area from an avoid zone for couples to an enviable space for groups.
Girl About The House
On a tight budget we had a request to brighten up a family room, the client liked retro style and wanted the room to feel as they had 2 small children.

Instead of the usual fare, we chose to have a Christmas lunch buffet. Here you can see our table, and a peek of the fireplace, exquisitely dressed for Christmas.

This client felt lost as far as design and selection. She'd already received my counsel regarding refinishing and the color of her kitchen cabinets. When she reached out to me again to assist with organizing her home and suggesting a few new pieces I was elated. A majority of the project consisted of relocating existing furniture and accessories as well as purging items that didn't work well with the design style. The guest room was transformed when we painted a lovely green color over the orange walls. The room that saw the most change was the dining room as it got all new furniture, a rug and wall color. I'm so thankful to know that this project is greatly loved. Photos by Barrett Woodward of Showcase Photographers

The walls are finished in a faux fresco multi-color finish. The column has a metallic finish to compliment the walls.
