The clients had purchased the table and chairs for their previous home . They fit well in this space, thus we recovered them in the lush cut velvet from Designer's guild. They are now show stopping. The paint is #6861, "Radish" by Sherwin Williams.

This terracotta feature wall is one of our favourite areas in the home. To create interest in this special area between the kitchen and open living area, we installed wood pieces on the wall and painted them this gorgeous terracotta colour. The furniture is an eclectic mix of retro and nostalgic pieces which are playful, yet sophisticated for the young family who likes to entertain.

Instead of sacrificing precious counter and storage space in the U, I designed a between-the-studs shallow broom niche for the new eating alcove wall. It’s about 3-1/2" deep — enough for a broom and dustpan, and a few cleaning supplies on the shelf above. It's easy to grab the broom even when someone is seated at the table. Although the rest of the kitchen has frameless cabinets, the broom cabinet uses a framed front. Canyon Creek, the manufacturer, has both framed and frameless lines. Photo by Ellene Newman

A dining area fit for a King and Queen. In the past, royals were known for dressing their homes in dramatic coloring, red being a popular choice. We had a lot of fun creating this style, as we used fiery crimsons, refined patterns, and bold accents of gold and crystal, which was perfect for this large dining room that sits ten! Project designed by Michelle Yorke Interior Design Firm in Bellevue. Serving Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Medina, Clyde Hill, and Seattle.
