Home Bar - addition to Theater Area

For visual consistency in this basement build-out, Pineapple House determined that most of the walls would be 10” wide, smoothly finished wood planks with nickel joints. With boys in mind, the furniture and materials they specified are nearly indestructible –porcelain tile floors, wood and stone walls, wood ceilings, granite countertops, wooden chairs, stools and benches, concrete-top dining table, metal display shelves and leather on sectional, dining chair bottoms and game stools. Our client wanted the Gramophone team to recreate an existing finished section of their basement, as well as some unfinished areas, into a multifunctional open floor plan design. Challenges included several lally columns as well as varying ceiling heights, but with teamwork and communication, we made this project a streamlined, clean, contemporary success. The client had a finished basement space that was not functioning for the entire family. He spent a lot of time in his gym, which was not large enough to accommodate all his equipment and did not offer adequate space for aerobic activities. To appeal to the client's entertaining habits, a bar, gaming area, and proper theater screen needed to be added. There were some ceiling and lolly column restraints that would play a significant role in the layout of our new design, but the Gramophone Team was able to create a space in which every detail appeared to be there from the beginning.
