We opened up the kitchen to the entry and stairwell by removing the wall between the kitchen and the hall, moving the closets out of the hall, and opening up the staircase to the lower level with a half wall, which created a more open floor plan. We further expanded the space visually by adding a wall of sliding glass doors to the porch at one end of the kitchen, which flooded the room with natural light and pulled the outdoors inside. In the chef’s grade kitchen, a custom hand painted back splash created a graphically subtle backdrop that balanced the light and dark finishes in the room. Caesar Stone countertops were specified along with professional series Sub Zero and Viking stainless steel appliances.

Client wanted lots of wood in this newly built home to warm up the kitchen. The kitchen in their previous home was very contemporary and their grown kids complained that the kitchen felt "cold". This is a Craftsman style home with clean simple lines.
