Laundry/Mudroom in Morgan Court House
Vintage Bench with shoe bins below and hooks above serve as catch space next to the laundry.
We removed a full wall of cabinetry that surrounded the washer and dryer. It looked like a lot of storage but in this skinny room was more cumbersome than helpful. It also didn't allow for any space to use as a mudroom. I received a lot of side eye removing cabinets, but in the end being able to shift the washer/dryer over allowed for the door into the garage to open fully without hitting the washer (or the laundress). It also gave us space to use for mudroom purposes.

A Design Art & House
Our client wanted a finished laundry room. We choose blue cabinets with a ceramic farmhouse sink, gold accessories, and a pattern back wall. The result is an eclectic space with lots of texture and pattern.

The new Laundry Room and Folding Station. A rod for hanging clothes allows for air drying and prevents wrinkles and enhances storage and organization. The appliance color also compliments the neutral pallet of the rift sawn oak cabinets and large format gray tile. The front loading washer and dryer provide easy access to the task at hand. Laundry basket storage allows for easy sorting of lights and dark laundry loads. Access to the garage allows the room to double as a mud room when necessary. This client not only needed a new kitchen but they had no storage, no mudroom, and useless closet in the garage. We took over the closet made it part of the laundry room to recess the washer and dryer , add an indoor closet and allow space for a mudroom and extra storage. The kitchen was gutted and we added a large center island, custom cabinets, and eat in area . We added a slider with a transom so the table could be round. The Family room we added a sectional and added a ship lap wall. We lowered the mantle and added left over granite from kitchen for the surround. Both Island the wood mantle are painted the same gray tone.
Studio R Design
Reclaimed beams and worn-in leather mixed with crisp linens and vintage rugs set the tone for this new interpretation of a modern farmhouse. The incorporation of eclectic pieces is offset by soft whites and European hardwood floors. When an old tree had to be removed, it was repurposed as a hand hewn vanity in the powder bath.
Desert Oak Homes
On the other side of the house, the laundry room is located. The washer and dryer is located on one wall with a counter top and sink located on the other. Multiple cabinets are in the room allowing a lot of storage.
