Newly built vegetable garden. Beds are 4 inch cedar, pathways are river stone. Critterfence deters rabbits without detracting from the garden architecture. Support posts in the rear contain raspberries, and blueberries are freshly transplanted in the middle.

Un élégant potager constitué de carrés en hauteur et d’un chalet pour faciliter le travail du jardinier. Le tout est joliment ceinturé par une barrière en bois.
Private Gardens, Public Places
Never underestimate the power of a unifying architectural element throughout a garden. In this case, the custom built lattice. The lattice flanking both sides of the front facade does an excellent job of defining the property lines, creating privacy and adding visual interest to the home. Well-placed and size-appropriate containers throughout the garden offer a solution to difficult growing situations and a finished touch to the landscape.

In south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio. Angles create drama and direct flow to the steel stairs and gate. Installed June, 2014.

The grand fireplace stands 18 feet tall and eight feet wide and was designed with local stone from Colorado. The moss on the stone and patio add to a natural feel.
