Rainwater is celebrated as the focal point in this backyard garden. The angled deck provides enough space for a morning coffee, then transitions down onto a natural stone patio for large gatherings. A deep plant bed was created against the garage to showcase plant textures and soften the patio space. The curved edge of the patio mimics the irregular shape of the corner rain garden, with a gently sloping lawn in between the two spaces. Natural boulders form the edge of the rain garden, while swaths of rushes and other water-loving plants provide all season interest.

Beaconsfield garden design and landscaping
Beaconsfield garden design and landscaping
Karl Harrison Landscapes LtdKarl Harrison Landscapes Ltd
Karl Harrison Landscapes Ltd has designed and landscaped part of the grounds of a recently extended and modernised property. This Beaconsfield property has a secluded west facing garden space. In excess of 30 tonnes of prime landscaping materials were designed, managed and constructed in a manner that enhanced the living space of this beautiful residence. To strip back the existing garden in full and design from first principals. Completely transform the garden into a contemporary garden with a series of water features in a Manhattan theme. Relaxing and entertaining was important, multiple coloured lighting was also required. Natural paving elements with a contemporary composite decking material with some existing and mature planting. Pockets of light create additional depth to the raised walls with the appearance of bountiful yet contemporary planting overflowing the walls and giving height to the raised beds. Pittosporum, Photinias and Buxus… The combinations of terrace surfacing add to the exact detail of the garden with the gas fire off set from the design.
