After removal of unwanted plants, the cleared areas made room for new plant plugs to be installed. Beautiful native flowers now punctuate the existing grasses creating an increadible natural meadow-like effect.

Beautiful roof top garden, very eco friendly. The deck of the garden needed to be straight while at the same time the water needed to flow off the garage. We designed a way for this to happen and it worked perfectly. This is now a great place for the neighbors of this house to hang out and mingle, it's really brought them all closer. Plus at night the roof is high enough above the street lights to see a lot of stars.

This Moroccan inspired Rooftop Garden in Chelsea features many outdoor rooms with pergolas, fencing, fiberglass containers, statues, and outdoor seating. This layered container garden is a plethora of different specimen plants- both flowering and evergreen, which provide for brilliant contrasting textures as well as a greater sense of depth.

Designed by Green Hammer architect Jan Fillinger, the Fineline House was designed and built with unprecedented precision — from the interior finishes to the state-of-the-art lighting, ventilation, and built-in home energy-monitoring systems. It utilizes Passivhaus detailing and 100% of the lumber used for the structure and framing of the project was Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC)-certified.

This residential green roof and ground level garden was designed with the client’s specific lifestyle in mind. The client had long dreamed of being able to look out her bedroom window into a life-filled rooftop scene with flowering native plants and grasses frequented by local birds, butterflies and bees. A biodiverse, native plant filled ground level garden was also a high priority. K. Dakin Design made this dream a reality, selecting climate adapted plantings that would appeal to these wildlife visitors, benefitting the homeowner, the regional ecosystem and the pollinators themselves.

The villas are part of a master plan conceived by Ferdinando Fagnola in the seventies, defined by semi-underground volumes in exposed concrete: geological objects attacked by green and natural elements. These units were not built as intended: they were domesticated and forced into the imagery of granite coverings and pastel colors, as in most coastal architecture of the tourist boom.
We did restore the radical force of the original concept while introducing a new organization and spatial flow, and custom-designed interiors.
