We created a social entertaining space in the lower level of this new construction home that backs up to the Oklahoma Training Track and is walking distance to the Saratoga Race Course. It is complete with a wine room, wet bar and tv space. The bar, tv enclosure and millwork are constructed of rustic barn wood as a tribute to their love of horses. The tv enclosure doors are a replication of working barn stall doors. The design is appropriate for the racing scene location. The entertaining space functions as intended with the wet bar centrally located between the wine room just off the right behind it and the cozy tv space ahead.

The space belonged to someone who expected us to create a lounge for his business associates from middle east asia, Europe and India. We did the full makeover of this space. The colours are very shiny and glossy on the walls and curtains. The sofa has a very english styling and colours. The accessories were kept very indian. The client was very happy as it made his guests feel connected and luxurious. The lounge looked ROYAL and DIFFERENT.

Utilise an awkward corner with a cabinet bar; maximise floor space with a trunk bar, which unfolds to create a bar counter; or conveniently turn any space in your house into a bar room with a mobile bar such as a fun bar cart. If you prefer a more grandiose option, or all the amenities of a real bar, you can’t go past a built-in home bar.

What home bar functionalities do you want to include?

Decide how you will use the bar and whether you will need sinks, storage and refrigeration. Including a sink in your home bar design is a practical addition if you choose a location far from your kitchen. If you’re a wine connoisseur, you may want to include additional wine storage, whereas a mini bar fridge within the kitchen may need no extra storage at all. What bar furniture will you need?
