- The room does look stylish, bright and airy. The staircase however looks totally unsafe and un-trafficable by the elderly or small children. How do these projects get passed by council for meeting building code. In Australia for example all staircases must nor have an opening larger than 125mm so young children can't get their heads trapped or fall through.
I am all for contemporary approach to design but as we are building currently I know we can't utilise many of the design ideas on Houzz because they would not get signed off by the building inspector for approval to occupy and even if they did I would fear law suits if visitors got injured ( or heaven forbid our own family).
Am I the only one who wrestles with tjis issue?
