“The idea of the “three sisters” tea station was inspired by Chekhov’s famous play!” quips furniture designer Johnny Grey “For sisters read three cupboards seeking to find an identity in a modern world - but interpreted here as the difficulty of find space of all the storage needed – tea, coffee or a glass for an alcoholic beverage!” Below the cupboards is a hot and cold water dispenser, drinks fridge and work surface which provides space for serving anyone visiting for a sociable drink. Grey has cleverly mixed traditions in this piece. The rough oak barrel which houses a sink, and waste bin on the back of the door is reminiscent of an old wine barrel. It is made of solid English pippy oak with artisan metal bands commissioned from Paul Jobst. The “three sisters” cupboards echo a refined Chinese tea house. They are made from laminated oak bent round formers in three diameters, in gold leaf and hand painted finishes. LED lights are imbedded in the back for night time illumination. This reinforces the circular shape and adds an interesting shadow line.

Rénovation complète à Viroflay

Projet de rénovation complète d’une maison de 150m² à Viroflay. Brief : De beaux effets de matières tout en restant sobre et chic. Au rez-de-chaussée : Un style industriel chic avec du béton ciré, un mur en brique, et la création d’un espace avec un bar en zinc réalisé sur-mesure. La cuisine a été imaginée comme une box noire (peinture noire aux murs et plafond rehausser par des façades bois) qui se fond dans le décor. Au 1er étage des ados, chacun a son propre style de chambre selon ses affinités et ses centres d’intérêt. La salle de bain, elle, est graphique et colorée dans les tons vert, noir et blanc, avec une pointe de rotin pour plus de chaleur. Au 2ème étage, changement d’ambiance avec une touche art déco dans les revêtements aux tons bleus et dorés : du papier peint panoramique et en forme de palmes, et un carrelage écailles de poisson pour une atmosphère cosy très chic. À l'extérieur, une large terrasse avec un escalier en métal noir et du bardage composite a été créée pour organiser des soirées autour d’une plancha. Résultat : Une maison adaptée à l’image et au mode de vie de son propriétaire, masculine, festive et accueillante.
