Three apartments were combined to create this 7 room home in Manhattan's West Village for a young couple and their three small girls. A kids' wing boasts a colorful playroom, a butterfly-themed bedroom, and a bath. The parents' wing includes a home office for two (which also doubles as a guest room), two walk-in closets, a master bedroom & bath. A family room leads to a gracious living/dining room for formal entertaining. A large eat-in kitchen and laundry room complete the space. A budget-friendly family bathroom in a Craftsman-style home, using off-the-shelf fixtures and fittings with statement floor tile and metro wall tile.

We created this fun Guest bathroom for our wonderful clients to enjoy. We selected a wonderful patterned blue and white recycled glass tile for the feature wall of the shower, and used it as a jumping off point for the rest of the design. We complemented the wall tile with a light gray hexagon porcelain tile on the main floor and a smaller version in the shower area. Coupled with a matching blue vanity, the space comes together with an ease and flow in a stylish bathroom for family and friends to enjoy!

The bathtub was replaced with the Asher alcove bathtub by Kohler to compliment the clean lines of the Asher toilet. The shower curtain was eliminated and replaced with a frameless sliding glass door by Vigo. Two colors and materials were used for the tile. We took up to the ceiling. Glass Night Sky 3x12 subway tile was used for the upper portion in a 4x4 herringbone pattern while gloss white 3x6 ceramic subway tile was used for the bottom.

A large window of edged glass brings in diffused light without sacrificing privacy. Two tall medicine cabinets hover in front are actually hung from the header. Long skylight directly above the counter fills the room with natural light. A ribbon of shimmery blue terrazzo tiles flows from the back wall of the tub, across the floor, and up the back of the wall hung toilet on the opposite side of the room. Bax+Towner photography
