Kitchen for Balmain house

The kitchen was designed and constructed by the architect as a handcrafted object, in contrast to the standardisation of most contemporary kitchens. The refrigerator was moved out of the existing dysfunctional kitchen and recessed into an adjoining space. A restful work space with simple 'u' shape resulted. A skylight was added to provide natural light. All shelves and cupboards follow the same fluid curves.
