Our design for the Ruby Residence augmented views to the outdoors at every opportunity, while completely transforming the style and curb appeal of the home in the process. This second story addition added a bedroom suite upstairs, and a new foyer and powder room below, while minimally impacting the rest of the existing home. We also completely remodeled the galley kitchen to open it up to the adjacent living spaces. The design carefully considered the balance of views and privacy, offering the best of both worlds with our design. The result is a bright and airy home with an effortlessly coastal chic vibe.

L shaped oak shaker kitchen cabinetry. The cabinets are painted in Farrow & Ball Ammonite. The worktop is engineered quartz. The raised breakfast bar has an oak worktop. There are orange pendant lights hanging above which contrast nicely with the blue green splashback tiles. Above the hob is an extractor hidden behind a cabinet. There is a small chalkboard strip and gallery wall with framed artwork next to it adding fun.

Moroccan arch brought in by architect, to "recreate" the arch lost at small niche in old kitchen. we wanted to keep the Moroccan element going & thought of putting exotic tile at stove backsplash. We added the cobalt blue tile instead, wood elements (palette wood found by cabinet maker in attic)

Designing the kitchen with few upper cabinets allowed us to install a richly hued turquoise ceramic tile backsplash that climbs to the top of two walls and feels like a huge hug when you walk into the kitchen.
To add warmth and texture to the family-oriented space, we included industrial-style light fixtures with beautiful bronze finishes and a custom-designed dining table that nods to the unique modern elements we aimed to include.
