Down-to-studs remodel and second floor addition. The original house was a simple plain ranch house with a layout that didn’t function well for the family. We changed the house to a contemporary Mediterranean with an eclectic mix of details. Space was limited by City Planning requirements so an important aspect of the design was to optimize every bit of space, both inside and outside. The living space extends out to functional places in the back and front yards: a private shaded back yard and a sunny seating area in the front yard off the kitchen where neighbors can easily mingle with the family. A Japanese bath off the master bedroom upstairs overlooks a private roof deck which is screened from neighbors’ views by a trellis with plants growing from planter boxes and with lanterns hanging from a trellis above.

Fran Kerzner- DESIGN SYNTHESIS
Our new clients lived in a charming Spanish-style house in the historic Larchmont area of Los Angeles. Their kitchen, which was obviously added later, was devoid of style and desperately needed a makeover. While they wanted the latest in appliances they did want their new kitchen to go with the style of their house. The en trend choices of patterned floor tile and blue cabinets were the catalysts for pulling the whole look together.
Puccini Kitchens
Step into this vibrant and inviting kitchen that combines modern design with playful elements.
The centrepiece of this kitchen is the 20mm Marbled White Quartz worktops, which provide a clean and sophisticated surface for preparing meals. The light-coloured quartz complements the overall bright and airy ambience of the kitchen.
The cabinetry, with doors constructed from plywood, introduces a natural and warm element to the space. The distinctive round cutouts serve as handles, adding a touch of uniqueness to the design. The cabinets are painted in a delightful palette of Inchyra Blue and Ground Pink, infusing the kitchen with a sense of fun and personality.
A pink backsplash further enhances the playful colour scheme while providing a stylish and easy-to-clean surface. The kitchen's brightness is accentuated by the strategic use of rose gold elements. A rose gold tap and matching pendant lights introduce a touch of luxury and sophistication to the design.
The island situated at the centre enhances functionality as it provides additional worktop space and an area for casual dining and entertaining. The integrated sink in the island blends seamlessly for a streamlined look.

Sustainable Kitchens
An extension on a London townhouse with flat panel, handless cabinetry for a sleek and contemporary kitchen.
With high ceilings, the cabinets on one wall use the full height with plenty of storage. The mix of white and oak ensures the space doesn't feel cold. We crafted a bench seat in the garden room with additional hinged storage to make use of the views of the long landscaped garden.
burlanes interiors
Burlanes were commissioned to design, create and install a fresh and contemporary kitchen for a brand new extension on a beautiful family home in Crystal Palace, London. The main objective was to maximise the use of space and achieve a clean looking, clutter free kitchen, with lots of storage and a dedicated dining area.
We are delighted with the outcome of this kitchen, but more importantly so is the client who says it is where her family now spend all their time.
“I can safely say that everything I ever wanted in a kitchen is in my kitchen, brilliant larder cupboards, great pull out shelves for the toaster etc and all expertly hand built. After our initial visit from our designer Lindsey Durrant, I was confident that she knew exactly what I wanted even from my garbled ramblings, and I got exactly what I wanted! I honestly would not hesitate in recommending Burlanes to anyone.”

Schmidt Dorking
Clean, cool and calm are the three Cs that characterise a Scandi-style kitchen. The use of light wood and design that is uncluttered is what Scandinavians look for. Sleek and streamlined surfaces and efficient storage can be found in the Schmidt catalogue. The enhancement of light by using a Scandi style and colour. The Scandinavian style is inspired by the cool colours of landscapes, pale and natural colours, and adds texture to make the kitchen more sophisticated.
This kitchen’s palette ranges from white, green and light wood to add texture, all bringing memories of a lovely and soft landscape. The light wood resembles the humble beauty of the 30s Scandinavian modernism. To maximise the storage, the kitchen has three tall larders with internal drawers for better organising and unclutter the kitchen. The floor-to-ceiling cabinets creates a sleek, uncluttered look, with clean and contemporary handle-free light wood cabinetry. To finalise the kitchen, the black appliances are then matched with the black stools for the island.
