Collaborations are typically so fruitful and this one was no different. The homeowners started by hiring an architect to develop a vision and plan for transforming their very traditional brick home into a contemporary family home full of modern updates. The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn was hired to provide kitchen design expertise and to bring the vision to life.
The bamboo cabinetry and white Ceasarstone countertops provide contrast that pops while the white oak floors and limestone tile bring warmth to the space. A large island houses a Galley Sink which provides a multi-functional work surface fantastic for summer entertaining. And speaking of summer entertaining, a new Nana Wall system — a large glass wall system that creates a large exterior opening and can literally be opened and closed with one finger – brings the outdoor in and creates a very unique flavor to the space.
Matching bamboo cabinetry and panels were also installed in the adjoining family room, along with aluminum doors with frosted glass and a repeat of the limestone at the newly designed fireplace.

This dream kitchen features an open floor plan with expansive views of the Rocky Mountains. A pull-out pantry, refrigerator drawers, and hidden storage areas ensure the kitchen is fully functional and free of clutter but with food and cooking items within easy reach.
The countertops feature unique fossil and Antolin stone, the cherry horizontal grained wood cabinets hail from the same trees, and the custom dining room table is carved from cherry too. Step out from the kitchen to an outdoor dining area with a pass through window to easily access food dishes from the kitchen. Above it all the drywall dropped ceiling gracefully winds around the space with recessed lighting to accentuate the curved soffits.

Clean lines and rich colors make this kitchen stand out as an example of the Mid-Century Modern revival. Working with The Egg Design Group they ordered Clay Squared's handmade tile in Copper Patina in 2x8" field tiles. Using a Monochromatic palette and letting the variation of the glaze work its magic to give the space an aged character. Variation is the key to homes feeling comfortable and livable. Woodsy kitchen for guest house. This project was a Guest House for a long time Battle Associates Client. Smaller, smaller, smaller the owners kept saying about the guest cottage right on the water's edge. The result was an intimate, almost diminutive, two bedroom cottage for extended family visitors. White beadboard interiors and natural wood structure keep the house light and airy. The fold-away door to the screen porch allows the space to flow beautifully.

Designed by Beth Ingraham of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Frederick, MD, this small traditional kitchen remodel worked within a small, existing layout to create a more efficient design. Cabinets are from Merillat Masterpiece in the door style Epic in Cherry with a Sunset finish. Kitchen appliances are from KitchenAid. Countertops were supplied by others.
