This kitchen remodel included taking out a dividing wall between the kitchen and dining rooms, adding a custom-built, walk-in pantry; and replacing the outdated peninsula with a gorgeous island in a contrasting cabinet color. Cork flooring adds comfort while cooking/entertaining in this spectacular remodel.

Custom cabinets are featured in this kitchen: alder wall cabinets and pantries with recessed-panel doors, combined with horizontal rift-oak base cabinets that have slab doors and drawers. Corian was used for the "working' countertops, with quartzite used for the tabletop, wall cap, and backsplash inserts. Custom LED lighting used in the recessed trayed ceiling and for task lighting. The kitchen has several special features, including see-through cabinets installed in front of windows, to maximize the daylighting on the north side of the home. Inspired Imagery Photography

Pantry storage at the end of the refrigerator and a panel to its right makes the appliance look built-in...not to mention the excellent storage provided!

Deep Drawers Allow for Planty of Storage - Our clients wanted to remodel their kitchen so that the prep, cooking, clean up and dining areas would blend well and not have too much of a kitchen feel. They asked for a sophisticated look with some classic details and a few contemporary flairs. The result was a reorganized layout (and remodel of the adjacent powder room) that maintained all the beautiful sunlight from their deck windows, but create two separate but complimentary areas for cooking and dining. The refrigerator and pantry are housed in a furniture-like unit creating a hutch-like cabinet that belies its interior with classic styling. Two sinks allow both cooks in the family to work simultaneously. Some glass-fronted cabinets keep the sink wall light and attractive. The recycled glass-tiled detail on the ceramic backsplash brings a hint of color and a reference to the nearby waters. Dan Cutrona Photography

The old galley kitchen was combined with a small family room to create a large, L-shaped kitchen ideal for both family cooking and catered parties.
Through the pocket door lies the mudroom.
