This renovation was for a family whose Kitchen is the heart of the home. The project goals were to create a warm, inviting space, comfortable for entertaining and every day use. Highlights of the Kitchen include the custom copper range hood and copper backsplash, beautiful distressed cream cabinetry and a built-in banquette overlooking the Magothy River. The Hill Kitchen is a one of a kind space. This was one of my first jobs I worked on in Nashville, TN. The Client just fired her cabinet guy and gave me a call out of the blue to ask if I can design and build her kitchen. Well, I like to think it was a match made in heaven. The Hill's Property was out in the country and she wanted a country kitchen with a twist. All the upper cabinets were pretty much built on-site. The 150 year old barn wood was stubborn with a mind of it's own. All the red, black glaze, lower cabinets were built at our shop. All the joints for the upper cabinets were joint together using box and finger joints. To top it all off we left as much patine as we could on the upper cabinets and topped it off with layers of wax on top of wax. The island was also a unique piece in itself with a traditional white with brown glaze the island is just another added feature. What makes this kitchen is all the details such as the collection of dishes, baskets and stuff. It's almost as if we built the kitchen around the collection. Photo by Kurt McKeithan

This brand new kitchen was created with StarMark Cabinetry’s decorative Bedford inset door style in Cherry wood finished in a Rattan stain. The golden ambers, browns and grey accents in the granite-look HD countertop bring a luxury look to this kitchen. Decorative Stone Harbor hardware in a satin nickel finish completes the look. Kitchen plan by our pro designer and installation by Hardrath Improvement, Manitowoc.

Our Client's wishlist included multiple chefs in the same space, so two islands were a must. Countertops are made by Caesarstone. This space measures 22' x 17', but can easily overflow into the Prep Kitchen just behind the stocked Pantry.
Hunley faucets and pot filler remind us of the English architecture with a distressed brass finish. The honed farmhouse sink is from Stone Forest. Appliances are from SubZero Wolf, and the matte black pendants are made by Savoy House.

In this kitchen, we removed a very large, load bearing wall and replaced it with a 16" tall beam to carry the load of the roof.
The custom tiled mural really sets off the custom wood vent hood over the stove!
