The perimeter of the kitchen has leathered granite countertops and Stone backsplashes create such a unique look and bring a level of warmth to a kitchen. Bakes & Kropp remodeled this former showhouse kitchen to reflect the personalities of its owners—and with 450 square feet to work with, the team had plenty of space to be creative. The kitchen now includes two sinks, two dishwashers, two fridges, and a large French Top stove to support the owner’s preferred cooking style. The space is elegant but comfortable and carefully blends a mixture of walnut, painted cabinetry, stone, and metal accents. This 2,500 square-foot home, combines the an industrial-meets-contemporary gives its owners the perfect place to enjoy their rustic 30- acre property. Its multi-level rectangular shape is covered with corrugated red, black, and gray metal, which is low-maintenance and adds to the industrial feel. Encased in the metal exterior, are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and an aging-in-place suite that is made for the in-laws. This home also boasts two garage doors that open up to a sunroom that brings our clients close nature in the comfort of their own home. The flooring is polished concrete and the fireplaces are metal. This classically designed mid-century modern home had a kitchen that had been updated in the1980’s and was ready for a makeover that would highlight its vintage charm. The backsplash is a combination of cement-look quartz for ease of maintenance and a Japanese mosaic tile. An expanded black aluminum window stacks open for more natural light as well as a way to engage with guests on the patio in warmer months. A polished concrete floor is a surprising neutral in this airy kitchen and transitions well to flooring in adjacent spaces.

Instead of enclosing the kitchen, it is scaled down to one-story and warmed by exposed beam and wood stained beadboard ceiling. The kitchen opens to the two-story great room with dining and living. A generous bank of two-story windows face the east-west axis for maximum natural light. The flooring is 6" white oak. The kitchen island is custom-made marble top.
