This modern kitchen design features black and white high gloss cabinetry paired with black countertops. Pops of color are great accent pieces to add flair to the space.
MainStreet Design Build
Although the home is in its 100th year, the owners wanted to create an updated urban style reflective of their downtown location. The new styling, while sleek and contemporary, kept a traditional feel with a paneled door styling, crystal chandeliers and an updated glass version of subway tile. We were also able to create an open kitchen with a 3’8 ½” x 7’ 5 ½” island centered on a gourmet Wolf cooking area.

The living room opens up into the kitchen where there is a statement island that is accessorized with a Sea Pearl Quartzite that is set off by the beautiful backsplash and modern, white cabinets. The counter top is a waterfall mitered edge that covers the entire front of the island.

Now that's an interesting porcelain tile, isn't it? Works well with both warm and cool color schemes. And it almost has a concrete like texture to it which lends itself to transitional, contemporary, industrial, and rustic decors.

These Brown Fantasy Leathered quartzite countertops are the star of this kitchen. With sweeping hues of brown, tan, gray, and white, the movement in this natural stone carries your eye throughout the space. The homeowners' installed a complimentary glass tile backsplash which looks fabulous against their white cabinetry. A framed insert of glass and stone mosaic tile above the stove makes a great focal point. They also have a Shaw farmhouse sink which looks out to a gorgeous view of their backyard.

A custom hutch with glass doors and shaker style mullions to the far end of the kitchen creates additional storage for cook books, tea pots and small appliances. One of the drawers is fitted with an electrical outlet and serves as charging station for I-Pads and cell phones.

Contemporary. Expansive. Multi-functional. An extensive kitchen renovation was needed to modernize an original design from 1993. Our gut remodel established a seamless new floor plan with two large islands. We lined the perimeter with ample storage and carefully layered creative lighting throughout the space. Contrasting white and walnut cabinets and an oversized copper hood, paired beautifully with a herringbone backsplash and custom live-edge table.
