Deck & Drive SolutionsThese homeowners had patio installed before we showed up, but they had the builder grade wood deck, much smaller than useful. We decided to build a much larger deck of 36′ wide by 14′ deep with different areas separated by an accent boards. The materials they choose was Timbertech’s PVC Capped Composite Decking in the Legacy Series with using Pecan color for the main decking and then accented with the Mocha. We wanted the deck design to flow easily with the patio, so we created an open and cornered staircase that connected the 2 areas as well as easy access to the backyard. Black Westbury Full Aluminum Railing was installed in the Tuscany Series and to keep everything in a “clean” look – we decided to use 2″ posts all around. To finish it off, we installed Timbertech Riser Lights on the stairs and then Westbury’s Side Post Accent Lights. This deck turned out great and will be enjoyed for many years!
Assured Accuracy, LLCThis remodel was needed in order to take a 1950's style concrete upper slab into the present day, making it a true indoor-outdoor living space, but still utilizing all of the Midcentury design aesthetics. In the 1990's someone tried to update the space by covering the concrete ledge with pavers, as well as a portion of the area that the current deck is over. Once all the pavers were removed, the black tile was placed over the old concrete ledge and then the deck was added on, to create additional usable sq footage. The old landscaping was removed and a more minimalist, midcentury aesthetic was used for the new landscaping installation.
Mjolnir ConstructionThis customer hired us to improve their backyard space, as the upper deck was in need of updating and they required a large deck with raised garden beds for planting.
We built a spectacular 360Sqft. pressure treated wood deck with a picture frame deck edge and mid span deck border. Skirting was installed across the front of the deck as well.
A large set of 6' wide pressure treated wood stairs feature the same design as the main deck. We always support our stairs with a limestone screening and patio stone base to prevent movement and sinking!
Two western red cedar garden beds finish the sides of the deck, which will be used for growing vegetables. As a special surprise for our customer, we dedicated the garden beds to the their mother and father who both recently passed away. Inscribed on a live edge piece of white cedar, are the words "Giardino di Maria" and "Giardino di Stefano" which translated from Italian is "Garden of Maria" and "Garden of Stefano".
To revitalize the upper balcony, we capped the drop beam and rim joists with new pressure treated wood. We also removed the old decking and replaced with new pressure treated wood. The railing was removed and replaced with an exterior post and rail system using pressure treated wood and black aluminum balusters.
This was a very special project for us, and one that we will always remember.

Framed from 2x8 pressure treated lumber on a paver stone and limestone base, this 16'x16' deck features Trex Transcend® composite decking in the colour Gravel Path.
The Trex Hideaway Hidden Fastening System® was used by installing grooved edge boards throughout the middle of the deck. The hidden deck fastening system installs between the deck boards, fastening them to the joists with no visible deck screw heads on the walking surface. This precision also creates perfectly consistent spacing between the boards for a flawless look across the entire deck.
Along the squared edge boards which were used as a picture frame deck edge and the stair treads, the Starborn Pro Plug System® was used to conceal the surface mounted fasteners by countersinking them into the boards. Then they are covered with plugs from the same composite deck material, so they match perfectly.
Trex Transcend® fascia board was then installed to cover the pressure treated wood framing to create the ultimate no maintenance deck. Again, countersinking screws were used with plugs to hide all fasteners securing the fascia.
As a finishing touch, we bordered the deck with eye catching coloured riverwash stone over landscape fabric.

Deck & Drive SolutionsThe original area was a small concrete patio under the covered area. We decided to make it a deck, all they way between the garage and house to create an outdoor mulit-living area. We used Trex Composite Decking in the Enhance Natural Series. The main decking color is Toasted Sand, then double picture framed the areas with Coastal Bluff – which these 2 colors work out great together. We then installed the Westbury Full Aluminum Railing in the Tuscany Series in black. Finish touches were Post Cap Lights and then dot lights on the stair risers. New large area for entertaining which the homeowners will love.
