Bespoke joinery in this principle bedroom with several tonal paint shades used with precision in this North London Victorian house

The bespoke arched alcove joinery was inspired by the regency architecture of Brighton & Hove.

Set in south-west London this stunning 5 bedroom Victorian terrace features a Mediterranean-inspired family bathroom creating a relaxing, calming haven in which the family can completely relax and was published in the October 2015 issue of Homes & Gardens, Dream Bathrooms. When the property was purchased 5 years ago, the owners wanted to redesign the master ensuite and create more space so that all the family members could use. The owners were able to double the size of the room and created sufficient space to include a walk-in shower that features Drummond’s elegant Dalby Shower with curved pipe and a 300mm rose in Nickel finish “We chose these classic-style fittings from Drummonds because they are so glamorous. They are luxurious, beautiful made and built to last” says the owner. The striking Tay bath tub with its gleaming polished finish and a plunger waste is set against a wall paneled in antique mirror from Rupert Bevan Furniture & Interiors, all of which helps to reflect the light that streams in through the windows in the roof making the room feel even bigger. The double Crake basin with its chunky storage shelf and the beautiful Atlantic Grey marble comes in complete contrast with the beautiful Mediterranean floor tiles in sea blues and greens from Rustico Tile & Stone. The 1870s property, within the New Town area of the Cambridge Central Conservation Area, had been altered throughout the 20th century. Our work focused on restoring its character while improving energy efficiency and modern comfort. The internal layout was reconfigured to create a more coherent flow, with kitchens and bathrooms relocated and walls removed to improve light and space.

This large family home in Brockley had incredible proportions & beautiful period details, which the owners lovingly restored and which we used as the focus of the redecoration. A mix of muted colours & traditional shapes contrast with bolder deep blues, black, mid-century furniture & contemporary patterns.

We used our slimline steel system to block off the stairwell but still flood the house with light, glazed with fire rated glass

The snug is directly connected to the kitchen and designed as an open, kid-friendly space. We used the owners’ sofa here so accidental spills wouldn’t cause a major issue. To future-proof the space, we introduced two fireplace alcoves creating useful games storage, with a small bar area for entertaining.

The height and the complex roof structure of this conservatory gives the feeling of both light and space resulting in a wonderful atmosphere for dining and relaxing. Vale’s adaptable and unique roof system combines a fine structural metal core with decorative timber mouldings and trims to create fine glazing rafters and an elegant internal appearance. This Queen Anne House, in the heart of the Cotswolds, was added to and altered in the mid 19th and 20th centuries. More recently the current owners undertook a major refurbishment project to rationalise the layout and modernise the house for 21st century living. Artichoke was commissioned to design this new bespoke kitchen as well as the scullery, dressing rooms and bootroom. Primary materials: Antiqued oak furniture. This lovely Victorian house in Battersea was tired and dated before we opened it up and reconfigured the layout. We added a full width extension with Crittal doors to create an open plan kitchen/diner/play area for the family, and added a handsome deVOL shaker kitchen.
