A first floor bespoke laundry room with tiled flooring and backsplash with a butler sink and mid height washing machine and tumble dryer for easy access. Dirty laundry shoots for darks and colours, with plenty of opening shelving and hanging spaces for freshly ironed clothing. This is a laundry that not only looks beautiful but works!

The Homeowner custom cut/finished a butcher block top (at the same thickness (1") of the granite counter-top), to be placed on the farm sink which increased the amount of available space to fold laundry, etc.
Note: the faucet merely swings out of the way.
2nd note: a square butcher block of the proper desired length and width and thickness can be purchased online, and then finished (round the corners to proper radius of Farm Sink corners, finish with several coats of clear coat polyurethane), as the homeowner did.

Large, stainless steel sink with wall faucet that has a sprinkler head makes bath time easier. This unique space is loaded with amenities devoted to pampering four-legged family members, including an island for brushing, built-in water fountain, and hideaway food dish holders.

Practicality and budget were the focus in this design for a Utility Room that does double duty. A bright colour was chosen for the paint and a very cheerfully frilled skirt adds on. A deep sink can deal with flowers, the washing or the debris from a muddy day out of doors. It's important to consider the function(s) of a room. We like a combo when possible.

The classics never go out of style, as is the case with this custom new build that was interior designed from the blueprint stages with enduring longevity in mind. An eye for scale is key with these expansive spaces calling for proper proportions, intentional details, liveable luxe materials and a melding of functional design with timeless aesthetics. The result is cozy, welcoming and balanced grandeur. | Photography Joshua Caldwell

With a series of pull out drying racks, fold away ironing board, lots of counter space, storage galore, rolling laundry carts and rods for hanging items to dry this laundry room has it all both in form and function.

The cabinetry in this practical space is painted with Paint & Paper Library 'Lead V'; handles are Armac Martin 'Cotswold Bun Knob' in Satin Chrome finish; sink is Shaws 'Pennine' 600mm single bowl pot sink; tap is Perrin & Rowe 'Oribiq' in Pewter finish; worktops are Statuario Marble.
The washing machine and tumble dryer are both Miele appliances, and are meticulously tested to provide at least 20 years of use.

This custom family home was built in 2000. The 4 kids have grown into teenagers so Mom decided it was time for an elegant yet functional renovation for her to enjoy. The end result is a functional repurposing of the space with a lighter color palette and a fresh updated look.

Note: See the exposed top edge of the Farm Sink relative to the granite. This exposed edge is used to support a "Folded Laundry Board" that can be seen to the left of the base cabinet, against the stackable washer/dryer.
