Leathered Granite Peninsula Visually Extends the Kitchen

For a greater sense of balance, more natural light and to take advantage of views of the Connecticut River, we added a window, along with opening up the counter area and extended the visual height of the space by removing a soffit that ran along one section of the original kitchen. We extended the kitchen into the adjoining living area by adding a peninsula and eliminating the need for a table and chairs that had previously been in an eat-in space. Photos Chrissy Racho
