Listed Building Extension Sussex

A single storey kitchen and dining room / garden room extension to a grade II listed building. The design addressed the complexities of getting Listed Building consent in terms of an understanding of history, context, local materials and techniques, crafts and culture as well as design skills, competence and experience. The space has a unique character relative to the other spaces in the house and the extension fits in with the rest of the house in terms of the flow of the internal spaces and the creation of an external courtyard. This spacious addition addresses the stunning view and makes use of sunlight and daylight to change in character in different weather conditions and at different times of the day. The design includes exposed feature seasoned oak trusses. and Crittall metal windows.
