HomeScapes Home Staging San Diego
This gorgeous ocean front home was one of our favorite home staging projects this year! From the spacious living area you can see straight out to the ocean within steps of a wide sandy beach!

The home's common areas are anchored by chevron patterned travertine flooring. The fireplace walls are clad in slabs of the same stone. The saturated color of the wool carpet defines the seating area. LED lighting embedded in both the columns and draperies creates a glow throughout the living room, dining ares, and den.

The open kitchen / family room floor plan allows my clients to gather with family & friends. The over sized, velvet sofa is covered in outdoor fabric for added durability. The stained wood coffee table is a perfect scale for not only the sofa, but the size of the room. Simple window treatments and carefully placed artwork and accessories provide a beautiful backdrop for the oversized industrial style light fixture that anchors the furniture grouping.

The Walnut paneling in the dining and living areas are original. The walnut veneer was numbered when sliced and then book-ended when installed, so one can see the ring of the tree branches. The fireplace is original with its kidney-bean shape and Jerusalem stone surrounds. The glass rocks were added by the current homeowners to create a modern look.

One great way to decorate a large, intimidating blank wall is to create the illusion of wall panels with simple wood trim pieces. Then, you can add a contrasting color or pattern to the center-here I painted them a rich aqua color!

With just a few changes: bringing in over-sized art to accommodate the 22 feet tall ceiling, reupholstering the existing Queen Anne chairs, and bringing in a contemporary coffee table and sofa, this room is transformed into a well balanced, eclectic space on a modest budget.
