This luxury family home living room in Hertfordshire was designed as part of a full-home renovation and full-service residential interior design project by By Two Studio. The space combines bespoke cabinetry, integrated shelving and a modern recessed fireplace to create a calm, elegant focal point tailored to modern family living. A soft neutral palette, layered lighting and carefully curated styling introduce warmth and quiet sophistication, while the symmetrical joinery design enhances balance and visual continuity throughout the interior. Integrated LED lighting, bespoke storage solutions and open-plan flow ensure the room feels both highly functional and effortlessly refined. Designed to support everyday family life while maintaining a timeless aesthetic, the result is a modern luxury living room that balances practicality with understated elegance within a cohesive luxury family home.

The living room is light-filled and welcoming, with a soft, natural palette that ties seamlessly into the kitchen and garden beyond. The bespoke oriel window is a standout feature—projecting outward to create a cosy window seat and drawing in light and views from the courtyard garden. Carefully chosen furnishings and finishes give the space warmth and texture, making it feel both contemporary and comfortable.

Der 80qm große Wohnraum ist in zwei Bereiche untergliedert: Esszimmer und Wohnbereich. Der 3m lang Holztisch wurde aus 300 Jahre alten Eichendielen nach meinem Entwurf angefertigt. Die 10 Stühle, die den Esstisch flankieren, haben wir nach Wünschen der Bauherren konfektionieren lassen. Das Design der großen Wohnwand entstammt auch meiner Feder und wurde von einem Schreiner maß gefertigt. Die integrierten tiefen Schubladen fassen Unmengen Spielzeug des jüngsten Hausbewohners. Bewusst haben wir uns für ein modulares Sofa entschieden, dass je nach Bedarf immer verändert werden kann. Auf dem anthrazit Bezugsstoff des Sofas sieht man die Haare der Katzen und es Hundes kaum. Wir haben uns für einen Pflegeleichten Stoff entschieden. Als Raumteiler fungiert eine wunderschöne Konsole aus Holz.

Project Battersea was all about creating a muted colour scheme but embracing bold accents to create tranquil Scandi design. The clients wanted to incorporate storage but still allow the apartment to feel bright and airy, we created a stunning bespoke TV unit for the clients for all of their book and another bespoke wardrobe in the guest bedroom. We created a space that was inviting and calming to be in.

Une maison de ville comme on les aime : généreuse et conviviale. Elle étonne le visiteur par sa force de caractère, vite adoucie par quelques touches de pastel qui ponctuent l’espace. The corner site, at the junction of St. Matthews Avenue and Chamberlain Way and delimited by a garden with mature trees, is located in a tranquil and leafy area of Surbiton in Surrey. Located in the north-east cusp of the site, the large two-storey Victorian suburban villa is a large family home combined with business premises, whereby part of the Ground Floor is used as Nursery. The property has been extended by FPA to improve the internal layout and provide additional floor space for a dedicated kitchen and a large Living Room with multifunctional quality. FPA has developed a proposal for a side extension to replace a derelict garage, conceived as a subordinate addition to the host property. It is made up of two separate volumes facing Chamberlain Way: the smaller one accommodates the kitchen and the primary one the large Living Room. The two volumes - rectangular in plan and both with a mono pitch roof - are set back from one another and are rotated so that their roofs slope in opposite directions, allowing the primary space to have the highest ceiling facing the outside. The architectural language adopted draws inspiration from Froebel’s gifts and wood blocs. A would-be architect who pursued education as a profession instead, Friedrich Froebel believed that playing with blocks gives fundamental expression to a child’s soul, with blocks symbolizing the actual building blocks of the universe. Although predominantly screened by existing boundary treatments and mature vegetation, the new brick building initiates a dialogue with the buildings at the opposite end of St. Matthews Avenue that employ similar materials and roof design. Nested in the beautiful Cotswolds, this converted barn was in need of a redesign and modernisation to maintain its country style yet bring a contemporary twist. We specified a new mezzanine, complete with a glass and steel balustrade. We kept the deco traditional with a neutral scheme to complement the sand colour of the stones.
