The romantic elegance of this lakeside master bath required an equally classically refined and alluring approach to finishing and detailing its cabinetry and walls to hone its place in the realm of magnificence. Cabinetry: washes of cool and warm accentuate the vanity profile while the elegance of gold leaf detailing highlight the graceful movement of the moulding appliqués. Walls: a two layer color wash finish was hand-applied to gracefully enhance the soft skip trowel texture of the walls with warmth, movement and the aura that arises only out of gently aged sophistication.

New Moroccan Villa on the Santa Barbara Riviera, overlooking the Pacific ocean and the city. In this terra cotta and deep blue home, we used natural stone mosaics and glass mosaics, along with custom carved stone columns. Every room is colorful with deep, rich colors. In the master bath we used blue stone mosaics on the groin vaulted ceiling of the shower. All the lighting was designed and made in Marrakesh, as were many furniture pieces. The entry black and white columns are also imported from Morocco. We also designed the carved doors and had them made in Marrakesh. Cabinetry doors we designed were carved in Canada. The carved plaster molding were made especially for us, and all was shipped in a large container (just before covid-19 hit the shipping world!) Bathed in Diana Royale marble, this elegant master bath offers the perfect spa-like retreat. Tub, sinks and plaster walls are all in biscuit adding to the bright, ethereal glow. A crystal chandelier hangs elegantly above the large soaking tub, which is the centerpiece of this sophisticated space. The traditional cabinetry, painted ivory, has been distressed and glazed to evoke Old World charm. Adding a touch of opulence is the countertop, which is adorned with a doubly thick ogee edge. Contrasting the warm neutral tones is polished nickel, which is the metal of choice for sconces, plumbing and hardware.
