The dining area is positioned at the end of the formal living room, near the street-facing windows. Its museum grade Biedermeirer table, chairs, and console are contrasted with a series of black and white photographs from the 1980s and a bold contemporary chandelier. The soft yellow of the walls and crisp white trim help to balance the composition.

The ceiling joists are exposed reclaimed lumber from an old barn. The posts are cast iron Corinthian columns from a demolished Baltimore store front. The kitchen counters were salvaged from a high school science lab. The floor is stained concrete with a smooth texture. Photo by Celia Pearson.

Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors: The HamptonsBetty Wasserman Art & Interiors: The Hamptons
We decorated in easy neutrals for the ultimate summer hangout. Contemporary furnishings by Holly Hunt and B&B Italia set the tone for a relaxed lifestyle, which we then contrasted with dark room dividers and accent side tables by Todd Hase. Our goal was to create a trendy and sophisticated environment that promoted stress-free living in a light and airy space. Project designed by interior design firm, Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors. From their Chelsea base, they serve clients in Manhattan and throughout New York City, as well as across the tri-state area and in The Hamptons.
