Midwest Ranch - ReDefined

AFTER - The family room of this 1960's classic ranch was transformed from its former midwest look into a dramatic & relaxing parlor. Wood walls were skim coated & then hand painted first with a green, then with a dark grey & washed back to reveal the under color. Then loosely edged in metallic gold to bring definition to the stripe without creating a hard line. An 1880's Oak fire surround was salvaged from a home in South St. Louis. The original bevel mirror remains. The white painted brick was sanded to bring back some of its original coloring. The carpet was removed, concrete was stained & sealed. Pleated drapery panels hide a 1980's glass block remodel mistake. Matthew Alexander
