From the architect's website: "Sophie Bates Architects and Zoe Defert Architects have recently completed a refurbishment and extension across four floors of living to a Regency-style house, adding 125sqm to the family home. The collaborative approach of the team, as noted below, was key to the success of the design. The generous basement houses fantastic family spaces - a playroom, media room, guest room, gym and steam room that have been bought to life through crisp, contemporary detailing and creative use of light. The quality of basement design and overall site detailing was vital to the realisation of the concept on site. Linear lighting to floors and ceiling guides you past the media room through to the lower basement, which is lit by a 10m long frameless roof light. The ground and upper floors house open plan kitchen and living spaces with views of the garden and bedrooms and bathrooms above. At the top of the house is a loft bedroom and bathroom, completing the five bedroom house. All joinery to the home was designed and detailed by the architects. A careful, considered approach to detailing throughout creates a subtle interplay between light, material contrast and space."

We added LED's to all under cabinet lighting in the kitchen, island, wine, and TV area. These turn on/off through a vantage keypad. All LED's are dimmable.

Custom walnut stain was placed on Alder wood paneling, custom fit with metal wine rack pegs from floor to ceiling. We worked directly with Noe Design Co to create a one of a kind entrance into this cellar. The highest quality stainless steel framing and double pane thermally insulated glass were placed on the front wall to not only maintain a beautiful look, but to also ensure that this wine room kept a perfect 55 degree temperature with constant relative humidity. Beautiful glass enclosed wine room that is not refrigerated. It displays the clients best wines and tequila and is an aesthetic ambiance work of art for the entire home. Atypical blue paint was used on this "spider" design with acrylic shelves so bottles look as they are floating. A central lighted tasting counter, glass holder and engraved stool makes this piece that more unique.

The underground wine room rivals any high-end cellar door, equal consideration was also given to its storage, temperature, and humidity controls.

Situated at the entrance to the bar area, this modern climate-controlled wine cellar in Dallas, Texas compliments the style and elegance of the surrounding space. The insulated glass sidelights on either side of the entry door perfectly frame a column of bottles. Airflow is routed within the millwork to ensure a perfect climate without any components of the refrigeration system being visible in the room.
